In the history of computer games, there is no shortage in cases where this or that game was largely inspired by other, as a rule, very popular products. In this case, it is difficult to avoid similarities, at least in trailers announcing a particular game. The problem arises when inspiration begins to resemble the method of complete copying. It was such an assumption that appeared on the Web in the context of the new gameplay trailer for the game The Day Before. Developers from FNTASTIC were accused of copying games such as GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077 from trailers.
The Day Before gameplay looks good. It does not have a shortage of action, a detailed world and a beautiful graphics. The penetrating eye of the Randomly blogger also noticed some very obvious similarities with the aforementioned hits Rockstar and Cyberpunk 2077.
According to Randomly, the striking similarity with trailers to the aforementioned games is manifested not only by some frames, but also in the words that the narrator pronounces. At times they sound as if they were taken directly from the presentations of other famous games.
If in the case of GTA 5, the similarity in the announcer text can be discarded, since it is not so pronounced, then in the case of RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 it is practically identical. This was noted by users commenting on the above video.
They stole the logo of The Last of Us, Call of Duty’s gameplay trailer, The Division posters and a video showing gameplay from RDR2, GTA 5 and Cyberpunk 2077. It cannot be that this game was real.
This is not the first time that the Day Before developers are caught on such copying. In February of this year, the authors of the game were accused of copying Call of Duty, which was very accurately indicated by the user under the pseudonym Chroma on Twitter/X. He compared the shots from The Day Before and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The Day Before also sounds that it has too many similarities with The Last of Us, The Division and even Snowrunner.
The developers plan to release The Day Before on December 7 as part of the early access program, but it is not yet known whether then the debut of the game will take place.
